Every organisation and company will run them differently, did you know the industry is unregulated so anyone can call themselves a dog training or behaviourist!? We are all qualified trainers, Rachel, who designs our courses, is a Kennel Club accredited dog trainer as well as being a Pro Dog trainer and has over 15-years’ experience with dogs of all ages and with all kinds of requirements.
So, what do Furry Tails Dog World’s classes look like?
We focus heavily on building the relationship between you and your puppy. This should be the foundation of all training, if you don’t have trust and communication skills, adolescence will hit hard and that puppy that mostly listened to you, will suddenly become like a teenager who is bored by your voice and makes extremely poor choices. But most of us who have put time and effort into training early on, will find adolescence is a serious of small blips rather than years of heartache with dogs who suddenly forget how those ears work.
Our classes are a combination of in-person classes along with videos to watch at home which are more behaviour skills such as separation, nipping and jumping.
In class we learn some obedience skills and largely focus on real life needs such as drop’s, leave’s, loose lead walking, recalls, settling and calm. These are key skills for any puppy to learn if we are going to have that harmonious household that most of us crave.
Our classes are followed up with behaviour guides and guides to remind you what you did in our classes as who has the time to listen, manage your puppy and take notes.
And with every good training school, you can ask us anything, we’re there to help you navigate puppy with the least amount of bumps (and jumps) possible
